Seaside Away Day

Seaside away day poster draft

We are going on a British family day out - to the seaside!

We are hiring a coach to take us to Felixstowe - a typical British seaside town on the Suffolk coast - where there are lots of things to do for all ages:

  • The beach!
  • The pier!
  • The Leisure Centre (which has an indoor swimming pool, in the very unlikely event of the weather not being perfect!)
  • Landguard Fort, which guards the approach to Harwich Harbour.
  • The beautiful Sea Front Gardens.
  • The Adventure Golf course, for crazy golfing fans.
  • The Martello Park, a grassy park which offers play, picnic and wildlife areas suitable for young children.
  • Felixstowe Museum, which  houses 14 galleries displaying the military and social history of Felixstowe. Even the building is of historical interest as it was once a submarine mining establishment.

No typical British day out would be complete without a fish and chip lunch, so we have made a group booking with Fish Dish - right opposite the pier - for a fish and chip lunch for £13 per head. There's no obligation to have this, and there are many other restaurants available in the town for you to choose from, but - well - what else would you want to eat at the seaside but fish and chips?
The plan for the day will be as follows:

  • 10:00: coach leaves from the bus stop opposite the Storey's Field Centre (Eddington Avenue, Eddington CB3 1AA).
  • c11:30: arrive in Felixstowe
  • 12:15: optional fish and chip lunch at Fish Dish (included in combined ticket price)
  • 16:30: coach picks us up from outside Fish Dish.
  • c18:00: coach arrives back at the Storey's Field Centre.

The costs for the day are as follows:

  • £7 per person for the return journey on the coach only
  • £20 per person for combined coach travel and fish and chip lunch

Unfortunately we cannot offer concessionary prices for children etc.

Child car seats: please note that the UK government states that, on a coach:

"Children can travel without a child car seat or seat belt, if they’re not available."

This means in effect that children are not  required by law to use a child car seat on a coach that does not have them already fitted. The coach we are using for this trip may have three point seat belts for the use of all passengers. If you wish to bring your own car seat for your child, you may do so, but please be aware that there are only a limited number of anchor points on the coach for car seats requiring these.

To book online, please complete the booking form at the bottom of the page.

Please note that booking closes  at midnight on Sunday 10th May 2020.
